We all know Motorola is planning to launch 20 Android phones this year, and that’s normal because it is totally dependent on Android now. But, LG also seems to have caught fancy of their Android strategy.
Korea Times reported recently that LG wants a pie of growing smartphone market, thus it would be concentrating on Android now. So, the company is planning to launch around 20 Android phones this year.
Operating profit rates for LG’s mobile communication unit, dropped to 0.9 percent in the first three months of 2010 from 6.7 percent a year ago,so LG needs some real turnaround from Android. Looking at their current Android offerings, that seems to work a lot harder to compete with phones like Nexus One, iPhone 4 and Evo 4G.
