LG launches Optimus 3D; coming in Q2

LG has officially announced its first 3D display smartphone – Optimus 3D. The Android-powered Optimus 3D will be available globally starting in Europe early in the second quarter of 2011.

LG Optimus 3D features a 1GHz OMAP4 dual-core processor, Full 3D experience covering the full spectrum from recording to viewing and sharing 3D content, 5 megapixel dual cameras will allow for up to 720p video in 3D mode, and 1080p when in 2D mode, 4.3-inch WVGA glasses-free display, DLNA connectivity, with Android 2.2 aka FroYo. Other specifications include 8GB of on-board memory along with Wi-Fi, HDMI out, Bluetooth and the usual stuff.

Company has also partnered with Youtube to provide a dedicated 3D channel on the website to share the 3D recording as well as watch them. Users can automatically upload 3D recordings to YouTube’s dedicated 3D channel at youtube.com/3D.
