Amazon Kindle tablet is coming in Nov for USD250

So the first big Amazon tablet leak is here and personally I am a bit disappointed. I was expecting more from Amazon rather than a customized FroYo build and so-so hardware.

Coming to the leak, according to a report in Techcrunch, Amazon Kindle tablet is very real and it would be arriving in November. It is expected to be priced at $250 and would carry the free subscription to Amazon Prime as earlier rumored.

Report further goes on to give details about the tablet, which is being called Amazon Kindle tablet [till now]

  • 7 inch capacitive display
  • Customized version of Android
  • Amazon Appstore, Cloud Player, Kindle app, Instant Video Player
  • No Android market, no Google apps
  • Single core 1 GHz processor
  • 6GB internal storage
  • WiFi only
  • No camera, No GPS [probably]
  • micro-USB port
  • No hardware buttons

Amazon has fully customized Android to their needs, so there are chances than it would not be running any specific version of Android and so don’t expect Ice Cream Sandwich or updates like that. Amazon will be updating their version as per the need.

The future of other 10 inch tablet is dependent on the success of this 7 inch version, and if coming that would arrive in Q1 next year.
