Available now in select markets with Honeycomb, coming worldwide next month with ICS
Acer has officially launched Iconia Tab A200 today. According to Acer, tablet is now available in select countries (names unknown) with Android 3.2, and will be released worldwide with Ice Cream Sandwich in January 2012.
We are expecting that Honeycomb version will only be released in major markets to encash the holiday demand, rest of the markets will get it next month. Acer has not officially given the names of these select markets right now, but we hope to hear something very soon.
Iconia Tab A200 is not a quad core tablet, as you might expect, but it runs on NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor. Other features include 10.1 inch display, 1GB RAM, 2MP front camera, full size USB port, and Acer Ring interface. The pre-loaded apps include Soundhound, Google Movie Studio, TegraZone, Netflix (US, CA), Google Music, AUPEO!,LumiRead (Global, excluding US), Zinio, Kindle (US), SocialJogger, Documents to Go, Evernote, and McAfee VirusScan Mobile.
It will be available in 8GB and 16GB versions with microSD card support. There is no word on the price right now, but the press release suggests aggressive pricing.
