HTC UK chief has told a publication that company is going to launch a limited number of devices this year and will focus on a few Hero devices. HTC had flooded the market with several smartphones last year and it did not turn out too well for the company thus it is changing the strategy now.
“We have to get back to focusing on what made us great – amazing hardware and a great customer experience. We ended 2011 with far more products than we started out with. We tried to do too much. So 2012 is about giving our customers something special. We need to make sure we do not go so far down the line that we segment our products by launching lots of different SKUs.”
– HTC UK chief Phil Roberson
HTC is going to announce a few devices at Mobile World Congress next month and most of them are expected to be high-end. Company’s upcoming Sense upgrade is also going to make a great difference for its devices.
