BSNL launches three Android tablets, plans to rival Aakash with INR 3250 model

State-owned telecom operator BSNL has decided to jump in the tablet arena with the launch of three Android tablets. Manufactured by Pantel, these tablets will go on sale starting March 1 in the country with attractive data plans.

Everyone wants to grab a pie of tablet market these days and looking at how people wanted to buy Aakash tablet recently despite the fact that it was crap, there is certainly a lot of buyers for cheap tablets. Keeping the same in mind BSNL has announced three tablets and the cheapest one will cost you only INR 3,250. Other two tablets have been priced at INR 10,999 and INR 13,500.

Penta T PAD IS 701R : 7-inch resistive display with 800X480p resolution, 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Android 2.3, 3G Dongle support, 0.3MP camera, HDMI port, 3000 mAh battery, 2GB Internal memory and an expandable memory of 32 GB. Price – INR 3250.

Penta TPAD WS704C:  1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 7 inch capacitive display, Android 2.3, Wi-Fi, integrated SIM card, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, Bluetooth, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card support, aGPS, HDMI port and 1080p HD playback support. Price – INR 10,999

Penta TPAD WS802C: 8 inch capacitive display, 1.2 GHz processor, 512MB RAM, Android 2.3, 4GB internal memory, microSD card support, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, Bluetooth, aGPS, HDMI port and 1080p HD playback support. Price: INR 13,500

All the tablets carry one year of warranty and BSNL is offering 5GB 3G data usage for INR 750, and 7.5 GB 2G usage for INR 250 with these tablets.

Contact your nearest BSNL outlet to know more about the availability of these tablets in your city. Pantel is also in talks with MTNL to provide these tablets in Delhi and Mumbai.
