Google Nexus 7 flying off shelves in US

Google’s Nexus 7 tablet finally went on sale in United States yesterday and the initial sales have been encouraging for the company, reported Reuters.

According to the news agency, major retailers ran out of Nexus 7 tablet without hours. An UNS retailer GameStop told Reuters that it had already run through its first two allocations of the tablet.

“We blew through the first two allotments,” a GameStop spokesperson said. A third allotment of preorders will be available in August, he added.

The initial reviews of the tablet have been very positive and Nexus 7 has been clearly dubbed as the best tablet you can buy right now for $199 (or even more).

More US retailers like Sam’s Club, Staples and Office Depot have listed the device as being out of stock on their websites.

Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt had also told media on Thursday that there was “immense demand” for the Nexus 7 in the first week.

Company had recently unveiled Nexus 7 at I/O along with Jelly Bean and it runs on Tegra 3 processor. It also features 7-inch display, Wi-Fi, 1.3M camera, 1GB RAM and more.
