Lenovo has launched 3 new Android 4.0 tablets, each with its own USP. The 7, 9 and 10.1 inch IdeaTab slates boast some really powerful specs. Here’s what they offer.
The IdeaTab A2107 is the 7-inch tablet is powered by a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor. The display supports a 1280×600 resolution. It features front and rear cameras, an FM tuner with built-in antenna and an optional 3G radio. Ports and slots include a Micro-USB port and microSD card slot. The tablet also has dual-SIM capabilities. It will be available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB variants and is expected to be available in November. But pricing details are officially unknown.
Moving on, the IdeaTab A2109 features a 9-inch screen with the resolution bumped up to 1280×800. This tablet packs in quite a punch under its solid metal build with Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor buffering 1GB RAM. The tablet comes with a Micro-USB port, microSD card slot and also makes room for a micro HDMI port. The IdeaTab A2109 will come in 8GB and 16GB models and will be priced at $299.
Completing the trio, is the IdeaTab S2110. This beast sports a 10.1-inch screen and comes with a 1280×800 IPS display. First spotted at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012, the tablet has multi-touch support and boasts wide viewing angles. Under its belly, the slate is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 1GB of RAM.
The 5MP rear camera on this device boasts 720p HD video capabilities. The IdeaTab S2110 includes both micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports. The SD card slot is missing. But users won’t be complaining, courtesy the 16GB and 32GB storage options.
But the best part about the IdeaTab S2110 is that it comes with an optional keyboard dock that helps double the tablet’s standalone battery life to about 20 hours. The dock features 2 USB ports, an SD card reader, a touchpad with mouse buttons. The tablet will cost $399 and will set users back by an extra $100 if they opt for the dock.
There is no word regarding the India launch of these tablets. But we do expect them to hit Indian shores in the coming few months. Lenovo is currently offering three Android tablets in the country; the IdeaPad K1, the ThinkPad Tab and the IdeaPad A1. The tablets which launched last year, are priced between 14,990 and INR 46,900.
