After making its way to US, UK, Australia and other select countries, Google TV has landed in France now. Sony released its Google TV integrated set top box NSZ-GS7 recently and it is now on sale for €200. Company also stated that it plans to launch its NSZ-GP9 device, which ships with an integrated Blu-ray player and Google TV later in the year for €299.
According to a report in French publication Le Figero, Sony is the first Google TV partners to release its Google TV devices in the country. There is no word on whether other partners will release their devices or note.
“Sony is the first manufacturer to sell a Google Box in Europe, but Google TV does not work on an exclusive basis,” said Google TV chief for Europe, Christian Witt at the launch event.
Earlier in the year, Sony had announced that it plans to launch Google TV devices in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Mexico and Netherlands, and France.
While, Europe might have started getting Google TV, there is still no word on when the service is going to hit Asia.
