Angry Birds is set to release in an all new Star Wars avatar on November 8. Rovio has earlier shared a teaser trailer with the black bird holding a slingshot-styled lightsaber. Now the Finnish gaming studio has released another trailer showcasing the first gameplay footage from the bird smashing franchise.
The 50 second trailer opens with the character Luke, the red bird, showing off his lightsaber skills to Leia characterised as the pink bird. This is followed by actual gameplay footage in what seems to be environs, inspired from the movie. The red bird aka Luke is found attacking green swine and as he approaches the wooden structure, he is seen flinging his light sabre in action.
Next, the pink bird is seen attacking an AT-AT walker that tries to defend itself by shooting red lasers at the pink bird. Leia uses her lightsaber to drag the machine and make it tumble. The pigs here are seen in Darth Vader-style head gear.
The use of interesting game mechanics like these will easily draw gamers to this latest addition of Angry Birds. Mark your calendars for November 8 to experience Angry Birds in true Star Wars style. Till then “May the force be with you”.
