As promised, Samsung Chromebook went on sale on Google Play earlier today. However, it did not take long for the device to get sold out.
Google has told The Verge that the initial stock of the device has been sold, but they are expecting more soon. Buyers are now getting an option to ‘Get Notified’ when the product is back in stock.
Originally announced last week, this budget Chromebook was until available for pre-order at various online retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and PC World with shipping starting from this week. Google has also announced that the device will go on sale at normal brick and mortar stores this week.
Sporting an affordable price-tag of $249, Samsung Chromebook comes with 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1266x768p, Samsung Exynos 5 Dual Processor, 2GB RAM, VGA camera, HDMI port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and two USB ports.
Google is also claiming 6.5 hours of juice on the Chromebook, which weighs only 1.1 kgs. With a 16GB SSD, along with 100GB of Google Driver storage, it should be a decent portable device for people who want a basic computing device without massive processing power.
