Unlike the rumours, HTC has named the international version of Droid DNA as HTC Butterfly, which is almost same as its Japanese name “J Butterfly.” Initially launched in China a few hours ago with this name, the smartphone has now also been listed on HTC global website, making it certain that other countries too will get the phone under HTC Butterfly name.
The specifications remain same as other two models – 5-inch super LCD 3 Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, Qualcomm S4 1.5 GHz Quad-core processor, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, and 2020 mAh battery.
On the imaging front, the HTC Butterfly comes with 8 megapixel camera with auto focus & LED flash, 2.1 megapixel front camera, and dedicated HTC ImageChip. There is Jelly Bean on-board along with HTC Sense 4+ and Beats Audio enhancements built-in.
The smartphone will be available in China in mid-December for RMB $4,799 ($770 / €590) in black, white and brown colours. There is still no word about the availability in other countries; we hope to hear more from the company soon.
