Tired or don’t feel comfortable of rooting your Android device just to back up your applications, well no more. Koush, the developer behind CkockworkMod recovery, has released a nifty new application called “Carbon” in Google Play.
The Carbon Android app uses the Android’s in-built back-up solution to allow you to back-up all your Android apps and app data without the need for root access. Google had introduced in-built Android back-up solution in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but there was no nifty interface to properly use it, and Carbon uses the same to help you backup Android apps. However, for the without root back-up solution to work, you will need access to a computer, as Android by design and due to privacy concerns does not give applications access to app-data of other apps.
If you have root access, then you can always back-up your apps without the need of a computer.
“Carbon lets you backup your apps and data to your SD card or cloud storage. With Carbon, you can sync app data from your other Android devices– even if they are not on the same network. Set up backup schedules with Carbon, and never lose data again,” Koushik Dutta notes in Google Play app description.
