It has been just over four months since the Sony Xperia Tablet S debut and we are already hearing about its successor, which might be announced at Mobile World Congress next month. Codenamed “Pollux”, the tablet is likely to be dubbed as Sony Xperia Tablet Z, keeping the branding in sync with company’s flagship Xperia Z smartphone.
According to the leaked information, Xperia Tablet Z will come with 10.1-inch 1920x1200p display, 1.5GHz quad-core S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8.1MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera, Android 4.1.2, 6,000 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, NFC and LTE connectivity.
It will also be water and dust proof and feature a design similar to Xperia Z with just 6.9mm thickness.
Sources claim that the tablet will go on sale in second quarter of 2013. It will first be released in the Japanese market on NTT Docomo, followed by Hong Kong, Europe and then other countries.
Considering that we are yet to see Xperia Tablet S in India, it is unlikely that Xperia Tablet Z will also be coming anytime soon.
