As was rumoured in the last few days, Sony has officially taken the wraps off new Xperia Tablet Z today. At 6.5mm thickness, it is one of the thinnest tablets to be announced. Sony Xperia Tablet Z will join the already existing Sony Tablet S and Xperia Tablet S in the company’s portfolio.
Xperia Tablet Z features a 10.1-inch 1920x1200p high-res display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera with BSI and Android 4.1. Company has ditched its folded image design that was the part of last two tablets and Xperia Tablet Z looks similar to other slab-style tablets available in the market.
Tablets might not be the best way to click images, but still the Japanese manufacturer is touting the Xperia Tablet Z’s camera capabilities with features like automatic low-light mode. The tablet is also water/dust proof, and comes with S-Force Front Surround 3D, NFC, 6,000 mAh battery and LTE. It will be sold in Black and White colours.
At the time of writing this post, Sony had only revealed about the Japanese launch, where it will go on sale this spring. No word on release in other countries.
