HTC M7 to feature a 4.3 ultrapixels camera?

It seems HTC is planning to ditch megapixels in favour of ultrapixels in its upcoming flagship M7. Online reports indicate that HTC M7 will come with a 4.3 ultrapixels camera instead of rumoured 13 megapixels.

Traditionally, megapixels has been used as the identifier for number of image sensor elements of a digital camera, but HTC is going for a new marketing term ‘Ultrapixels’  in M7. Apparently, HTC M7 camera sensor will be made up of three 4.3-megapixel sensor layers that are used to combine into a single resulting image. Three lots of 4.3 may add up to around 13-megapixels, but images from HTC’s latest won’t be output at that larger size, notes Pocket Lint.

Image is likely to be the size of image that would come out of 4.3MP camera, but in the case of M7, it will be crisper and cleaner image.

HTC is likely to market the camera as the key feature of M7, which is set to be announced on February 19 in London and New York. We would know more about the camera on the same day.

Other rumours features of the phone include 4.7-inch 1080p SoLux display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.
