Samsung planning to build 100 million Galaxy S IV phones: Analyst

Samsung Galaxy S IV mock-up

We already know that Samsung Galaxy S IV is likely to be a huge hit, but what is Samsung expecting from this Galaxy S III successor. Looks like Samsung is way ahead of us. According to Peter Misek from Jefferies & Company, Samsung plans to build 100 million Galaxy S IV smartphones.

“The enormous 100 million S4 build plan (we estimate the S3 sold 60M) is leading some suppliers to say that they will reallocate resources away from Apple,” he wrote in a memo to his clients.

As per the last official numbers released by Samsung (in Jan), the company had already sold 40 million units and we can surely anticipate the number will go up with S4, so plans to 100 million units does not seem all that surprising. However, there is no way to authenticate Misek’s claims in whether Samsung is really planning to do so.

Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to be announced next month, with initial availability beginning in the same month. The smartphone is likely to feature a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED 1080p HD display, Exynos 5 Octa/ Qualcomm quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, front camera, Wireless charging and Jelly Bean.
