While we still believe that Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in India in early-May, reports from IBN Live and The Mobile Indian are indicating towards an end-of-April availability. We find these reports hard to believe as they are contradicting each other on both pricing and availability dates.
First talking about IBN Live, which claims that the Galaxy S 4 will be launched in the country on April 25 and go on sale beginning April 27. The site further adds that the phone will get a maximum retail price (MRP) around INR 42,000, however the street price will be lower than 40,000.
On the other hand, Mobile Indian’s retail sources suggest that the phone will on sale on April 25 itself (with retailers getting the stock on April 24). Believe me if that is true, India will be the first country to get this much-awaited phone, as all the information till now points towards South Korea, US and other major markets getting the S4 on April 27. The Mobile Indian sources did not give any clear pricing indication, but hinted towards INR 39,000.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4, which was originally announced last month, packs a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor ( or 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor), after the reports of manufacturing issues with Exynos 5 Octa, we are not sure which version will be landing in India.
In addition, Samsung Galaxy S 4 comes with 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 with Touchwiz UI. Company has included plethora of software customisations on-board including dual-camera, Smart Scroll and Samsung WatchOn.
We would suggest you to wait for official announcement before getting too excited about the Galaxy S 4 India debut. In related news, company’s official e-store is allowing consumers to register their interest for S 4. You can always register there to get updates on Galaxy S 4 India availability and we will obviously keep you updated.
