Amazon Appstore updated to v5.0, adds support for 195 countries including India

Amazon Appstore for AndroidAfter announcing last month, Amazon has now opened its Appstore for Android to the Android users internationally including countries like India, Mexico, and South Africa. The Appstore can now be installed on your devices by downloading the APK from here.

Amazon Appstore, which was initially available only in United States, was later expanded to six more countries, but the latest expansion takes the tally to a total of 195 countries.

This expansion makes Amazon Appstore the biggest paid (as well as free) app store in the world in terms of the reach. Windows Phone store is at the 2nd place with availability in 180 countries followed by Blackberry (171), Apple iTunes (155) and Google Play (134).

The new update to the Appstore client not only brings support for more countries but also performance improvements and bug-fixes.

We think our customers will love the app selection we have to offer and also find features such as Free App of the Day and personalized recommendations very helpful as they discover and explore new apps and games,” said Mike George, Vice President of Apps and Games at Amazon.
