After two false alarms by NDTV Gadgets, we finally might be nearing the India launch of Lenovo Ideaphone K900 smartphone – world’s first smartphone with Intel Clover Trail+ dual-core processor. Lenovo India is broadcasting a new commercial on various TV channels in the country these days. This commercial, unlike other ads from Lenovo, packs some interesting details.
The Chinese computer giant is actually showcasing (still to be released in the country) K900 and S820 smartphones in this TV commercial (TVC), suggesting that we might see the launch of both the Android phones in the Indian market very soon.
This is not new for the companies to start ad campaigns for their products even before the official launch – like Panasonic did with P51 recently; the TVC for P51 was running on-air days before the announcement.
Check out the TVC below (S820 first appears at 0:35 mark, while K900 comes at 0:38 mark)
To remind you, Lenovo K900 went on sale in China recently and has also been announced Philippines and Malaysia. The smartphone packs a 2GHz Atom Z2580 dual-core processor, 5.5-inch full HD display with Gorilla Glass 2, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 16GB of internal storage.
On the other hand, Lenovo S820, which has just been introduced in China, is being targeted to female users and is a successor to the company’s already available S720. The S820 features 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The S820 also comes with dual-SIM support, 2000 mAh battery, and 4GB of internal storage with microSD card slot.
We are actively tracking the story and will let know guys know as soon as we hear anything concrete about the actual launch date of both the phones.
Update: We have just learnt that Lenovo is organizing a press event in Delhi on June 5, where it will be launching six new Android smartphones for the Indian market including K900 and S820. Details about other four smartphones are not clear at this moment.
