As rumoured, Facebook owned Instagram today introduced video on Instagram. A competitor to Twitter’s Vine, video on Instagram allows users to record and share 15 sec videos on social networks.
Based on Instagram’s three point formula of Simplicity, Beauty and Speed, Video on Instagram is everything, which we have been seeing in its photo-sharing app, and more.
Quick notes about Video on Instagram
- 15 seconds of video
- 13 custom filters exclusively for videos
- Freedom to choose your own cover frame from the video clip
- Cinema (not available for Android app right not – anyways it lets you lets you stabilize your shaky video after you take i)
“We’re excited to see what the community will bring to video, whether it’s your local cafe showing you [just how they made your latte art] this morning or an [Instagrammer on the other side of the world] taking you on a tour of their city, a [mother sharing her joys in parenting] as her children laugh and play or your favorite athlete taking you [behind the scenes],” Instagram team noted in a blog post.
According to the Instagram team, the video sharing feature (only support on Android 4.1 or above) will be available as a part of Instagram version 4.0 later today.
