Considering the flagship smartphones are already in the territory of phablets, Android manufacturers are now concentrating on mini versions of their flagship models. Samsung has already announced Galaxy S4 Mini, HTC is almost confirmed to be bringing HTC One Mini and now Sony is reportedly working on a mini version of their next flagship phone Honami. But, will Sony’s Honami Mini (or whatever Sony calls it) come with a disappointing set of specs like Samsung’s S4 Mini – well, if VR-Zone is to be believed then ‘NO.’
According to the publication, Sony’s Honami Mini will be in the category of flagship models, it might not undercut its big brother Honami in specs but it will come close. VR-Zone claims that sources close to the development of this phone have told them that Honami Mini will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, which is also going to be present in almost every flagship model of H2, 2013.
The camera in the mini version is said to be close to Honami if not the same. The phone will most likely come with a 4 or 4.3-inch 720p display. Personally, I have no problem with a 720p HD resolution on a smaller screen size; it gives more than decent performance and also keeps battery consumption lower than its 1080p counterparts.
Other details about this Sony smartphone are not clear at this moment but if history is any indication, we will have plenty of leaks before the actual release of Honami Mini.
