Firefox 24 arrives in Google Play with quickshare and more

Firefox 24 QuickshareMozilla has released the latest version of Firefox – version 24 in Google Play. As you can expect, there are a lot of new features and improvements in tow. Talking about some key changes first, Firefox 24 for Android now makes it easier to share web content to your contact using the quickshare functionality.

With quickshare, users will not only be able to share web content to Twitter, Facebook, SMS or email, they will also be able to bump it to other NFC-powered smartphones (if user’s phone has NFC hardware).

“Firefox for Android supports bump sharing on NFC-enabled devices. Sharing open tabs, a favorite article, a recipe or directions with a friend just got easier. Now you can just “bump” your Android phone with your friend’s to share the best of the Web you love with Firefox for Android, seamlessly,” Mozilla team wrote in a blog post.

Other major improvements include updates to Reader mode and support for Catalan, British-English and Swedish languages. You can find the full change-log below:

  • Added Swedish, British and Catalan to Android multi-locale builds

  • Baidu is now the default search engine for the Chinese locale
