As expected, Amazon will begin shipping its 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX tablet today. The tablet was on pre-order since September 25, the day it was officially unveiled. Only Wi-Fi version of the tablet is shipping right now, the LTE version with support for Verizon and AT&T will be available starting November 14.
“With a beautiful 323 ppi perfect-color HDX display, 3x the processing power, 2x the memory, 4x the graphics performance, and Fire OS 3.0, we think customers are going to love the new Kindle Fire HDX,” said Peter Larsen, Vice President, Amazon Kindle. “We can’t wait to get this tablet into our customers’ hands.”
To remind you, Kindle Fire HDX is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM, front camera, 7-inch display with 1920x1200p resolution and 16/ 32/ 64GB of internal storage.
As consumers get their hands on Kindle Fire HDX tablet, Amazon’s MayDay tech support will also be finally put to real test. MayDay allows Kindle Fire HDX owners to get tech support regarding their tablet issues directly from an Amazon expert on video, who can also access (if needed and after permission) the tablet and fix things directly or guide the consumers.
In related news, Amazon has also started taking pre-orders for Kindle Fire HDX tablets in Canada, Japan and UK.
