Google Glass to get Play Music support, Glass invites open to public

Google Play Music on GlassGoogle has announced that it is bringing Play Music support to Glass in the next few weeks. The company will be rolling out support for a new voice-command “Okay Glass, listen to,” which will be used to play songs on Glass via Google Play Music as well as All Access streaming service.

“In the next few weeks, we’ll roll out a new voice command (“Okay Glass, listen to”) so you can access your tracks from +Google Play Music, including the millions of songs on All Access,” Glass team noted in a Google+ post.

This is not all; Google will also be launching new stereo earbuds for Glass users, which can be used to listen music as bone conduction speaker present in the device isn’t really the ideal medium to hear music.

“We’re also introducing stereo earbuds designed specifically for Glass. They’re lightweight and uniquely engineered to deliver crisp, full-range audio while still letting you hear your surroundings. You can also rock out in style by customizing your buds with five interchangeable color caps,” Glass team added.

Glass Explorer program open to public

In related news, Google is now allowing general public to register for early access to Glass. It is a wait-list and everyone on the list won’t necessary get a shot in getting a Glass unit before public release but it is your best bet right now. As you can expect, it is an US-only opportunity.

“If you’re a US resident and are interested in joining, you can sign up here and we’ll let you know if a spot opens up – please note that, while we’d like to invite everyone, we can’t guarantee invites right now,” Google wrote on the sign-up page.
