XOLO’s first TDD-LTE 4G smartphone is now on sale in India. It was recently sighted on the company website and Flipkart and is finally available for order. Priced at INR 16,999, XOLO LT900’s 4G capabilities can only be used with Airtel 4G right now, that too in very select cities, we hope to see an official announcement detailing all this very soon.
LT900 features Android 4.2, 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 dual core processor, 4.3-inch 1280x720p HD display, 8MP rear camera and 1MP front camera. The phone also comes with 1810 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.
XOLO LT900 will be the second-ever 4G smartphone to be released in the country after Airtel launched Ascend P1 last year with Huawei. Both of the smartphones are still not truly 4G as they use 3G as the fall-back option for voice-calling and SMS. Airtel is still testing voice-over LTE and it will need licence from TRAI to provide VO-LTE services. So, the smartphones like XOLO LT900 uses circuit switched fallback to switch back to 3G network while making or receiving phone-calls/ text messages. Only data transfers happen over LTE network.
XOLO Q300 now on pre-order for INR 20,999
In related news, XOLO Q3000, which was spotted alongside LT900 a few days, is now on pre-order at Infibeam.com. The phone has been priced at INR 20,999 and will be available starting January 4, 2014.
To remind you, the XOLO Q3000 features a 5.7-inch full HD display, Android 4.2, and 1.5GHz quad-core MTK 6589 Turbo processor. The phone also packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 4000 mAh battery.
The phone seems like a decent option for consumers, who don’t want to spend too much money and want a Galaxy Note 3 like smartphone.
