HTC UK has revealed that HTC One X+ will not be getting any more Android updates and will remain on Android 4.2.2. With this confirmation, the future of HTC One X, which is a slightly inferior phone to One X+ is also certain as HTC won’t be updating one phone and not the other.
To remind you, HTC One X was the company flagship smartphone for the first half of 2012, while One X+ was the flagship for second half. When Samsung has just pushed Android 4.3 for its 2012 flagship phone Galaxy S III, it is disappointing to see HTC leaving One X and X+ behind.
In related news, HTC is busy preparing its next flagship these days, which will be slightly upgrade to HTC One. According to recent reports, it will come with 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 5-inch full HD display, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM, 2.1MP front camera, Ultrapixel rear camera, and the usual connectivity options.
