After Asus, now HP has introduced a Chromebox. Set to be available in the United States first, the HP Chromebox will go on sale later this spring.
HP has not shared many details about its first Chromebox, but we do know that it will come with connectivity options like HDMI, DisplayPort, Bluetooth and four USB 3.0 ports. It will be powered by Intel’s latest generation Haswell processors including a variant with Core-i7 on-board. The Chromebox is also very compact with just 5×5-inches (no word on thickness) in size.
According to HP, it will be released in variety of colour options including Smoke Silver, Ocean Turquoise, Snow White and Twinkle Black.
The company has stated that it will be sharing more details at the time of release.
Google introduces Chromebox for meetings
In related news, Google has announced the launch of Chromebox for meetings package, which includes everything that enterprise users might need for a virtual meeting.
According to Google, Chromebox for meetings comes with Intel Core i7-based Chromebox, a high-definition camera, a combined microphone and speaker unit and a remote control.
“Chromebox for meetings brings together Google+ Hangouts and Google Apps in an easy-to-manage Chromebox, making it simpler for any company to have high-definition video meetings,” Google explained in a blog post.
Chromebox for meetings is available starting today in the United States at $999. It currently includes the Asus Chromebox but Chromeboxes from HP and Dell will also be available for meetings in the coming months. The $999 price tag also includes the first year’s $250 management & support fee.
Google plans to release Chromebox for meetings in Australia, Canada, France, Japan, New Zealand, Spain and UK later this year.
