Unless you were living under a rock for the last two months, you are probably aware that HTC is going to announce its new HTC One smartphone later today at simultaneous press events in London and New York. Given the leaks, we don’t really see the point of the events but we hope HTC has something new to tell us as we pretty much know everything about the phone.
The press events are scheduled for 08:30PM IST and will be streamed live by the company on its official website.
A successor to the company’s critically acclaimed HTC One, the new HTC One (codenamed M8) will be a key smartphone for the company this year as it struggles to remain relevant in the smartphone arena. As per the information that has leaked so far, the new HTC One packs top of the line specifications with the latest Android version as well as new Sense user-interface.
The phone is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD Super LCD3, Android 4.4.2, Sense 6.0, and 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. On the imaging front, the phone will pack 5MP front camera and dual-ultrapixel rear cameras with LED flash. HTC has also included 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS on the smartphone.
HTC claims that the new HTC One is a better smartphone than HTC One (2013) in every aspect, which we expect to check out as soon as the phone hits Indian market.
As per rumours, HTC plans to start sales of the new HTC One immediately after the announcement in select markets like US and UK. The phone is also expected to reach more markets over the next few days. The pricing will most likely be in line with the launch-price of the original HTC One.
