Airtel on Monday announced that it has introduced its 4G LTE services in Ludhiana, Punjab. The city users will have access to both 4G on smartphones as well devices like dongles etc.

To remind you, right now only two Android smartphones, which are officially available in India, support the TD-LTE 4G services provided by Airtel – XOLO LT900 and LG G2 4G. In addition, the Apple iPhone 5C and 5S phones also support the 4G services.
Airtel uses circuit-switch fall-back to direct voice-calls/ SMS/ MMS via 3G/ 2G networks and provides data access via 4G LTE network. You can contact the Airtel stores in Ludhiana to get the 4G USIM cards.
In addition to Ludhiana, Airtel 4G on dongles/ smartphones is available in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Bengaluru. You can also get Airtel 4G services only on dongles in Kolkata and Pune as well, which currently do not have 4G on smartphones.
