Alleged specifications of Panasonic P81 leaked (Update)

Panasonic P81 teaserAs we recently reported, Panasonic is gearing up to launch a new P81 smartphone in the Indian market. Now, folks at NDTV Gadgets have got their hands on the alleged specifications and pricing of the smartphone.

According to the news site, Panasonic P81 will feature a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, octa-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot. The phone will also reportedly come with 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, dual-SIM support and 2500 mAh battery.

In addition, NDTV Gadgets notes that the company will be pricing the phone at INR 19,990 and keep the MOP of INR 18,990.

While we can’t independently confirm most of these specifications, Panasonic has officially revealed that the phone will indeed pack an octa-core processor via a teaser recently. Among other officially announced details (via teasers), the phone will come with metal and leatherette finish, as has been shown in one of the teasers, optional coloured back panels support and smart app-switch feature.

The company is all set to unveil the phone tomorrow i.e. May 20, so we won’t have to wait for long to get a confirmation on these specifications. Are you excited by these specifications or this is another “me-too” phone? Let us know in comments.

Update: It seems Panasonic P81 packs a 5-inch display and not 5.5-inch, as has been stated by NDTV Gadgets. Also, the pricing mentioned by them seems looks unlikely after seeing P81 import listing from Zauba.com , which clearly shows that P81 is a 5-inch phone and has been imported at a price of INR 9,690. After the taxes, customs and all the profit margin, it will probably go on sale around INR 15-16K and not INR 19K. Anyways, we will get the official details tomorrow.
P81 on ZaubaUpdate 2: Turns out Zauba.com listing was wrong and NDTV was right, P81 indeed packs 5.5-inch display and has been priced at iNR 18,990 in India.

Here are some of the video and image teasers of P81:
