Microsoft has officially launched the Nokia XL and X+ smartphones in the Indian market today. While XL is already on sale at select retailers, X+ will be available in the coming days.

According to Microsoft, Nokia XL will retail for INR 11,489, while Nokia X+ will go for INR 8,399. The phones join the company’s earlier launched Nokia X smartphone, which although introduced at INR 8,599, is now selling for around INR 6,800. The new Nokia X+ and Nokia X will be competing Motorola’s Moto E phone, which has been priced at just INR 6,999 in the country.

“With the Nokia X Family, we look to offer a variety of choices to our consumers at different price points. After receiving a great response with the Nokia X, which introduced the category to this market, we are now bringing the much awaited Nokia XL and X+ to our consumers,” said Nokia India (a Microsoft Mobile Oy subsidiary) Director Sales Raghuvesh Sarup.

To remind you, Nokia X+ features a 4-inch WVGA IPS display, 3MP rear camera, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3G, 768MB of RAM and dual-SIM support. On the other hand, XL packs a 5-inch WVGA display, 5MP rear camera, and 2MP front camera, 768MB of RAM, 2000 mAh battery and dual-SIM support.

Both smartphones will be available in a host of colour options in the country.  The company has also partnered with Airtel to provide 500MB of free data to the buyers of the phones, which can be used to download apps via the Nokia Store and the 1Mobile store.
