Update (June 6, 4:00PM): Lenovo has now officially announced the launch of A7-50 tablet in the country. It has been priced at INR 15,499 but as we had stated earlier, you can grab it for as low as INR 14,999 at brick and mortar stores and e-retailers.
Earlier (June 6: 10:15AM): Lenovo has quietly introduced the new A7-50 Android tablet in the Indian market. The tablet can now be grabbed from brick and mortar stores as well as Flipkart and Lenovo’s TheDoStore for around INR 14,999.
Originally introduced in April this year, Lenovo A7-50 features a 7-inch 1280x800p HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2. The tablet also packs 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 3450 mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. In addition, A7-50 packs 3G support, voice-calling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
It will be competing with Dell’s Venue 7 3G tablet, which comes with slightly different specifications and is powered by Intel’s dual-core Clover Trail+ processor. Dell Venue 7 is sold for INR 12,999 in the country and we believe is a better choice than Lenovo A7-50 unless the tablet’s imaging capabilities are a real concern for you.
