HTC on Friday took to the stage in New Delhi to unveil the new Desire 616 and One (E8) smartphones for the Indian market. The new smartphones will be joining the company’s Android portfolio in the country, which currently includes devices like One (M8), Desire 816, Desire 210 and Desire 310.
Talking about the HTC One (E8) first, the smartphone can be termed as the plastic version of the company flagship One (M8). It sports the same key specifications like the flagship – 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 5MP front camera and Android 4.4 – but there are a few differences. The E8 sports a full plastic body with a 13MP rear camera instead of the Duo camera setup present on M8 and also misses out of the IR blaster.
The phone will retail for INR 34,900 (MRP: INR 35,990) in the country and will be available around July-end in Polar White, Electric Crimson, Maldives Blue, and Misty Grey colours. HTC is releasing the dual-SIM version of E8 in India.
Coming to HTC Desire 616, this Desire series smartphone is a mid-range device and comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display, octa-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.5. In addition, the smartphone packs an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter and dual-SIM support.
HTC Desire 616 has got a price-tag of INR 16,900 (MRP: 17,200) and will go on sale tomorrow in Dark Grey and Pearl White colours.
