LG has announced the launch of its first Chrome OS device in the Indian market and it is not a Chromebook. The company has introduced its Chrome OS All-in-One (AiO) in the country, which carries the name Chromebase. Priced at INR 32,000, it will go on sale in the coming days.
“The specialty of this computer is that it represents a successful combination of simplicity, power and great design, and all types of users can operate it very easily. We are expecting its wide adoption not only at home, but especially in schools, hotels, call centers other business settings,” said Soon Kwon, managing director, LG Electronics India.
Originally unveiled late last-year, LG Chromebase features a 21.5-inch full HD IPS display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD and fourth-generation Intel Celeron processor. This AiO also comes with HDMI-in, three USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports as well as Ethernet support. LG has also included a 1.3MP HD webcam on the computer.
The company will also be offering accessories like keyboard, mouse and cable organizer accessories in the box.
In related news, Asus is also set to enter Indian Chrome OS market with the release of Chromebox on August 6.
