Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has announced that it expects the Zenfone line-up sales to surpass 2 lakh (200,000) units by the end of this month. The line-up had earlier crossed the 100,000 mark in August-end, indicating that the company is on cusp of selling 100,000 units of Zenfone smartphones in a month in the country.
Thanks to the value for money aspect, Asus Zenfone smartphones have been quite popular in the country. The company is finding it hard to keep the stock replenished.
“ASUS presently has 4 variants which have received path breaking response from the Indian Market. The company is constantly acting in order to meet the demand and also to cater to all their requirements with the firmware updates,” Asus noted in a statement.
The company has also stated that it hopes to join the top-ten smartphone vendors in the country by the end of this year and top five by next year.
Google had earlier announced that Asus is now an Android One partner and will be releasing an Android One smartphone in the coming months. We expect the Asus Android One smartphone to reach India and that would certainly help the company in achieving the target to joining top-five smartphone vendors club, which currently includes the likes of Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and Motorola.
