There have been a lot of reports and speculation about the expected announcement of the new Nexus devices as well as Android L on October 15 and now, another publication has come forward with a report claiming the same day as the Nexus unveiling day.
Tech blog Bright Side of News is reporting that Nexus 9 will be announced on October 15 and will go on sale beginning November 3 in the United States.
Although we are yet to see any official indication about the October 15 announcement, it looks more likely than ever that the blog posts announcing new Nexus devices and the latest version of Android will appear at the official Google blog on the day. A press event seems unlikely at this point because no invites have landed until now and Google will most likely organise a small briefing with select media to detail the new devices as it has been doing for the past couple of years.
Back to the latest report about Nexus 9, the Bright Side of News notes that the tablet will carry a price-tag of $399, indicating that Google is not going for an affordable device this year and Nexus 9 will be premium and will compete directly with Apple’s latest-gen iPad. As per the leaks until now, the Nexus 9 is expected to feature an 8.9-inch 2048x1440p display, 3GB of RAM, Android L, Tegra K1 quad-core processor (64-bit likely), 16/ 32GB of internal storage and NFC.
There is no word on the availability of the Nexus 9 outside US at this point but it is very likely that the tablet will go on sale on November 3 (if the BSN report is accurate) simultaneously in a select set of countries like US, UK, Japan, France, Korea, and Spain.
