HTC has unveiled a new variant of its earlier launched Desire 820 smartphone in the Chinese market. Dubbed as Desire 820s, the new smartphone packs MediaTek’s 64-bit octa-core MT6572 processor, instead of Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC present in D820.
Other specifications of the Desire 820s are similar to Desire 820 like 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front shooter, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone also packs BoomSound front speakers, a polycarbonate body, microSD card slot, dual-SIM connectivity, LTE support and 2600 mAh battery.
There is no word on the pricing or exact availability details but we hope to hear from HTC soon. It is also unclear whether the company plans to release the phone in other markets.
HTC to launch Desire 620 & 816h in coming months
In related news, HTC has been revealed to be working on two new Android phones – Desire 620 and Desire 816h. While the Desire 620 was spotted in Taiwan’s National Communications Commission database, Desire 816h appeared in China’s TENAA database. Both smartphones are expected to be launched in the coming months.
