Dell has quietly begun the sales its first Venue 8 7000-series tablet in the United States. Featuring Intel’s RealSense technology , the Venue 8 7840 tablet is now available at Best Buy for $399.99.
Intel RealSense snapshot is an enhanced photography solution, which uses the two cameras present on the back of the tablet and creates a high-definition depth map of the captured photos to enable measurement, refocus, and selective filters in the photos. The consumer can change the focus of the captured photos to different objects at the time of editing or measure the distance between two object in the image.
Venue 8 7000-series is also the thinnest tablet line-up from Dell with just 6mm thickness. The Venue 8 7840 packs a 8.4-inch 2560x1600p OLED display, Android 4.4 KitKat, 16GB of internal storage and 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor. In addition, the tablet comes with 2GB of RAM, 2MP front shooter and 8MP rear cameras.
There is no word on the availability of the tablet in other markets right now.
