After multiple rounds of soak tests, Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for both first and second-generation Moto G smartphones in the Indian market. The updates are now being released in a phased manner and will reach your phone over the coming days. The company is directly pushing Android 5.0.2 to the phones.
As the Lollipop update will be available over-the-air (OTA), you will automatically get a notification on your phone about the update, however you can also manually look for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update.
As per the change-logs shared by the company, the Android 5.0 update brings material design changes, improved notifications, new interruption and downtime settings, redesigned multitasking UI, changes to ambient display, updated Motorola Assist, Smart Lock, performance enhancements, and improved battery performance.
You can check out the detailed change-log for Moto G (1st Gen) here and Moto G (2nd Gen) here.
To remind you, Motorola India has already released Android 5.0 update Moto X (2nd Gen) in the country. It is now expected to roll-out Lollipop update for Moto X (1st Gen) and Moto E phones in the coming weeks.
