TCL-owned Alcatel OneTouch has announced the new Idol 3 smartphones at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The Idol 3 will be released in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display-sizes and go on sale in the coming months.
“It’s (Idol 3) a smartphone that really shows that we can deliver the best experience for our customers. IDOL 3 is a premium smartphone that will reach a worldwide audience and we have high hopes for its sales. It’s the perfect product to demonstrate the value we provide and to showcase the Alcatel OneTouch brand. On another note, it is also our first fully global launch. We’ve put a lot of effort into synchronizing everything, from product availability to the marketing approach to advertising. This smartphone will be shipped to many of the major carriers and retailers all across the world,” the company noted in a press release.
According to Alcatel OneTouch, the 4.7-inch model will retail under $200 and 5.5-inch model will be released under $250.
Coming to the specifics, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 (4.7) features a 720p HD display, Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. On the other hand, Idol 3 (5.5) packs a full HD display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter.
Both phones include dual front-facing speakers powered by JBL as well as two microphones, enabling users to pick-up the phone in any orientation to answer a call.
