As you might remember, we recently reported that Gionee is planning to launch its next flagship smartphone in June this year. Now, the first details of this smartphone have appeared online. Expected to be dubbed as Gionee Elife E8, the smartphone was spotted in the database of benchmarking website GFXBench.
As per the GFXbench listing, the next Gionee flagship (GN9008) will sport a 4.6-inch display with Quad-HD (2560x1440p) resolution. It is interesting that the company is going for a comparably smaller screen-size for its flagship, when every other manufacturer is going for bigger. If Gionee indeed launches the E8 with 4.6-inch display, it will be among the best compact smartphones in the world.
GFXbench has also revealed that the phone will be powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor and come with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, NFC and the usual set of connectivity options.
In addition, the Gionee GN9008 will run on Android 5.0 and pack 24MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter. All these are a bunch of impressive specifications, but until the phone becomes official, we can’t be fully certain about any of these.
As always, we will keep you in the loop about anything new on the Gionee flagship front.
