Micromax has added a new Android tablet to its portfolio in the Indian market. Powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor, the new Micromax Canvas Tab P690 will go on sale beginning June 7 in te country. It will be available in Black colour at INR 8,999.
“Our research has made it clear that there is a large segment of consumers who would value a technology device that can be shared between the family members, and so we’ve created a powerful yet affordable Tablet powered by Intel, aimed at helping family members enjoy the big screen of the Tablet for the things they love, including Movies, Games, Music, Reading and so on. More such products with sharply defined positioning will follow in the next few weeks and months,” said Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics.
Micromax Canvas Tab P690 comes with an 8-inch HD IPS display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The tablet runs on Android 4.4, but will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update. In addition, Micromax has included 3G support, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter, 4000 mAh battery and the usual set of connectivity options in the tablet.
Offers: According to Micromax, the Canvas Tab P690 will come with a number of promotions like six free e-books on Kindle, 1GB of free data for two months for Vodafone users, three months premium subscription to Saavn, six months premium subscription to Truecaller, one month subscription of Hello TV, and lots of in-app freebies in Angry Birds and Angry Birds Go.
